I built this site using Homestead, so that he too could manage the site at some point once it was up and running. The site worked wonders for him and he soon realized the immense potential of online consumers. He was not just selling to his usual customers but had opened up a brand new revenue stream selling silk trees and plants at wholesale prices to individuals in the general public. It also provided him with exposure to nationwide clientele who would buy on a larger scale, purchasers for hotels and the sort who he would have never otherwise been able to market to.

With all of the service offerings and information contained in the site, navigation and presentation was a key element and obviously fine tuning each and every page and topic in the site to match the relevance of it was critical. All of the owner’s original textual content was edited and maximized with target key phrases as well as syntax variations to capture long tail SEO, or more accurately text that would match a myriad of potential combinations of search phrases that his clients may use to find him.

I respect this DJ / website owner especially because he was willing to listen to my advice and then wait to see results. Many times I’ve found that the small business owner’s biggest obstacle to search engine success and website conversion, (when someone actually contacts you to buy something), is their own unwillingness to listen to the web designer or search engine marketing firm trying to help them.

One of the things I respect most about the website owner is he is smart enough to leave well enough alone. The site is virtually identical to when I built it years ago. Therefore it is very well established across all the major search engines. While I do believe that adding to a website and maintaining it regularly is an important part of Internet marketing, so many folks go through the disheartening and often uneventful process of changing their sites so often or to such extremes that they lose their place in search results… This website is a perfect example of “less is more”.
